Maestro Oscar Navarro is a proverbial “monster” of orchestral composition and scoring. Working in some of Los Angeles’ most renown studios such as Warner Bros., Paramount, and Capitol Records, Oscar’s awards and accolades are massive, and he’s only just getting started.
Oscar Navarro was born in the city of Novelda (Alicante), where he began his music studies playing clarinet at an early age. He set a life long precedent early on, receiving a special honorary mention at the end of his elementary training. Oscar’s decorations have remained abundant since that time. While at the “Conservatorio Superior de Música Oscar Esplá” of Alicante (Spain), he finished his Bachelors of Clarinet Music Performance as Magna Cum Laude with an honorary mention. Maestro Navarro went on to receive the Warren Endowed Scholarship for Scoring for Motion Pictures by the University of Southern California, and in 2006 won first prize in the International Composition Competition in Amposta, Tarragona (Spain).
In March 2007 he premiered his Concerto for Clarinet in the National Concert Hall of Brussels to rave review – the Spanish National Youth Orchestra now performs the piece around the world.
Oscar has studied under famous composers such as Joel McNeely (The Guardian, Lilo & Stitch, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), Jack Smalley (Murder She Wrote, Streets of San Francisco, Twilight Zone) , and is currently interning under famous American film composer Christopher Young (Hell Raiser, Premonition, Species, Spider Man 3).
