Charleston, SC 1966 – Darius Rucker

Country recording artist, and Hootie and the Blowfish front man Darius Rucker is releasing his third solo album this week, entitled Charleston, SC 1966. The album has so far garnered a ton of praise, and seems to be a good look for Country fans. An interesting note, The album get’s its name from country artist Radney Foster’s album Del Rio, TX 1959.

Free Wired – Far East Movement

The fifth studio album, and major label debut from the group Far East Movement hits stores today. The group has been gaining crazy amounts of steam in the past few months, first getting picked up by Cherrytree Records, and then touring with the likes of Lady Gaga and Mike Posner. Oh yeah, they’ve also got that “Like a G6” single too, you might’ve heard it before.

The Grand Theatre Volume One - Old 97’s

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, the Old 97’s have been entertaining listeners with their brand of Country music for the past 17 years. Today, they’re releasing their eighth studio album on New West Records. In order to create the new release, the band performed a week long residency at Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas full of new material. The songs that drew the best reactions were then recorded. This album represents half of all the successful recordings.

The Age of Adz – Sufjan Stevens

The Age of Adz represents Mr. Steven’s first full-length song-based album in five years. The Indie Pop monster is known for his use of varying styles, and this time around, heavy use of electronics and orchestration are featured on the release. Entirely written and produced by the creative performer, the album’s been getting some great praise in the press. This could definitely be worth a look for the Indie/Folk community.
